The Dashboard is a concise overview of your most essential fleet management data and notifications. This page displays Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, cost summaries, and reminders for your fleet. The display is customizable to meet the specific needs of your organization and your operations.

The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in to your Fleetio account, and you may easily return at any time by clicking the top link in the Sidebar Navigation:

What are Widgets?

The Dashboard is composed of self-contained, movable, customizable blocks called Widgets.

A Widget provides at-a-glance data along with quick links for you to easily access related Fleetio Modules.

Your Dashboard comes with a pre-configured set of Default Widgets. Add your own Custom Widgets, and even save different configurations of your Custom Dashboard so that you can alternate views or share Dashboards with your Fleetio teammates.

You may rearrange the Widgets on your dashboard to prioritize those most relevant to you. Drag and drop via the header of each widget to reposition.

In addition to rearranging widgets, you may also resize a widget by clicking and dragging the corner of the widget until it is the desired size.

Finally, click the More Actions button on any widget to Hide the individual widget.

Dashboard Overview

The default Dashboard view displays the widgets within a working area, bordered on the left by the main menu. You may wish to fill the full screen with the Dashboard display, or narrow the results displayed within widgets.

A toolbar at the top displays Dashboard options.

  • Identify your Dashboard by title and use the drop-down menu (a) to select other Dashboard views or to manage Custom Dashboards
  • Visibility (b) may be Private or Shared
  • Refresh Dashboard data (c)
  • Apply a Group Filter (d) to narrow data results displayed in all Widgets by Group or Subgroup
  • Compact (e) will remove any white space shown on the Dashboard only when it is clicked
  • Use the Manage Widgets menu (f) to enable/disable Default Widgets or Custom Widgets
  • Expand the Dashboard to Fullscreen mode (g)

Widget Settings

Click Manage Widgets via the icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Here, you can Restore Defaults, Reorganize Automatically to fill empty space when adding or removing widgets, Un-check any Widgets to hide, or add Custom Widgets at the bottom of the widget list.

If you add a new Custom Widget, this addition is highlighted on the Widget list via a red indicator next to the name.

Widget Permissions

Widgets, and the data within, are displayed based on User Permissions.

Custom Dashboards are displayed based on a combination of User Permissions and Dashboard Visibility settings.

Account Owners and Administrators have access to all Widgets, and corresponding data for the entire system.

Regular Users' data views are determined by Role and Record Sets. As a result, these Users may see different aggregate numbers (total costs, average MPGs, etc) based on their Record Sets.

In addition, the five Widgets in the Cost Category in the table below (*) are only displayed for Account Owners, Administrators, and Regular Users with the View Vehicle Reports permission, granted by Role.

Custom Widgets

In addition to enabling, disabling and repositioning widgets from the Default Widget Set, you may create your own Custom Dashboard Widgets.

NOTE: Custom Widgets are not available if you have a Fleetio Starter(Legacy) or Essential Plan.

Custom Dashboards

Your fleet management responsibilities may span several operational roles, or you may need reporting insight across multiple organizational groups. You may require access to different fleet data at different times of the month or year. You may oversee employees with varying permission levels, and wish to control their data access.

Fleetio empowers you to meet various reporting needs by creating multiple Custom Dashboards. Set Dashboard Visibility to private, for your own use, or share with teammates.

"My Dashboard" is the title of the default Dashboard for your Fleetio user. This includes the Default Widget Set and layout, which comes pre-configured in your Fleetio account.

PERMISSIONS: Account Owners and Administrators have full Custom Dashboard permissions. Regular Users can Manage or Share according to their Role.

NOTE: Custom Dashboards are not available if you have a Fleetio Starter (Legacy) or Essential Plan.

Manage Dashboards

On the Manage Dashboards screen, you can toggle between My Dashboards, which you have created, or those that are Shared With Me.

Click + Add Dashboard to add a new Dashboard, or use the More Actions Button to Edit, make a Duplicate, or Delete.

NOTE: You can only delete Dashboards you have created. A minimum of one Dashboard is required, and cannot be deleted.

Add Dashboard

Click the + Add Dashboard button and configure Settings for your new Dashboard.

Enter a Title, and select Visibility: Only Me (private), Everyone in Account, Admin Only, Specific Users or Specific Roles.

Custom Dashboard Permissions

As a recipient of a Shared Dashboard, a user may only view Widgets and data to which they have access by Role and Record Sets.

If a user is the recipient of a Shared Dashboard which includes a Widget to which they do not have permission, the user will see a placeholder indicating that the Widget isn't available based on current permissions:
