IMPORTANT: Clocking in and out of Work Orders is only available with the Fleetio Premium Plan.
PERMISSIONS: To clock in and out of Work Orders, you must be classified as a Technician in Fleetio and have the proper permissions to edit Work Orders. If you have questions about your permissions, contact your Account Owner or Administrator.
Start and Stop Work
To clock in and start logging labor hours, first, go to a Work Order in Fleetio Go.
- Tap the green Track Labor button (a).
- This will display a form where you can select General Labor (b) or a specific Service Task (c). The Service Task list shows (d) Service Tasks already on the Work Order at the top of the list.
- Selecting General Labor will create an unlinked labor line item on the Work Order.
- Selecting a specific Service Task will create a line item for that service task and a labor line item linked to the service task.
- The clock starts once you select a Service Task. While the clock is running, you can edit the Work Order, navigate around Fleetio Go, or close out of the app entirely. Your clock will continue running in the background.
- While clocked in, the home screen displays your active Work Order (a), and the Work Orders Index marks the active Work Order with a Clocked In tag (b).

NOTE: If there is a time entry on the labor line item, you will not be able to manually edit the Labor Hours. If you have Manage Labor Permissions, you can clear the time entry to manually input Labor Hours. Contact your Account Owner or Administrator with questions about your permissions.

Troubleshooting Tips
At this time, the Track Labor button is only available on the Work Order detail page.
Fleetio prevents Users from editing Work Orders in a completed status. So, once a Work Order is completed, you will not see the Track Labor button.
Many technicians may be clocked into the same Work Order at one time. If there is an un-ended labor time entry on a Work Order (i.e., a technician has clocked in but has not yet clocked out), then marking the Work Order "complete" will automatically END that labor time entry.
