Use Fleetio Go Offline

In many organizations, there may be inconsistent (or nonexistent) internet access at the location where assets are used or where they are permanently stationed.

By using offline functionality, you can still submit Submit Inspections in Fleetio Go without an internet connection.

NOTE: Offline functionality in Fleetio Go is currently only available for Inspection Submissions.

Offline Inspections

Offline functionality is disabled by default. To enable it in your settings:

  1. Tap your profile picture on the Home screen and select Offline Inspections.
  2. If a signature isn't saved, you'll be prompted to add and save one.
  3. When prompted, tap Resync Data, and the app will download data and Inspection forms.

Once enabled, you can complete inspections as you normally would.

When you submit an inspection, it will appear as Pending in Fleetio Go under Settings > Offline Inspections > Inspection Uploads. Once internet service is restored, Fleetio Go will sync any pending inspections to Fleetio and display them in Inspection History.

If your organization tracks submission times, the time at which you submit the Inspection is recorded rather than the time the Inspection is synced in Fleetio.

IMPORTANT: In order to sync pending Inspection uploads, the Fleetio Go app must be open and active. Pending Inspections will NOT upload when the app is closed or minimized.

Meter Validation

It's important for meter readings to be in the correct sequence for certain Fleetio calculations, such as usage and fuel economy.

A Meter Entry recorded during an offline inspection may be out of sequence with other readings in Meter History once online access is restored. This could occur based on changes or updates made by another Fleetio User while your pending submission was performed offline. It could result from a lengthy delay in resuming an active internet connection to sync the pending submission, or there might have been an error or typo with the entry.

To prevent inaccurate data, Fleetio will Auto-Void a meter reading from an offline Inspection if that reading is out-of-sequence by the time the Inspection uploads.

The void will be flagged in Meter History, and an Account Owner or Administrator will need to Unvoid the entry.

NOTE: Some functionality, such as the current meter reading, will not be displayed during an offline inspection. You may also see a Secondary Meter field, even if it isn't enabled for the Vehicle.

Troubleshooting

Inspection forms and vehicle data are out of sync.

Tap your profile picture, select Offline Inspections, and select Resync Data. This will download a fresh copy of your Vehicle data and Inspection forms.

This can only be done with an active internet connection.
