Team Collaboration with @mentioning

NOTE: In order to use @mentioning on Fleetio Go, you must be using version 4.10.0 or higher on Android or version 4.11.0 or higher on iOS. Read more about our phased-release rollout approach here.

For fleets who are looking to increase team communication, Fleetio’s in-app messaging with @mentioning ensures teams get the message everywhere they Go.

Unlike traditional fleet management communication methods that rely on a tangle of third-party apps, physical notes, and phone calls, Fleetio keeps fleet communication in one place. Whether you need to follow up on an overdue inspection with a driver across the country or confirm the severity of an issue with a technician on-site, Fleetio’s in-app commenting with @mentioning keeps your team connected in every location.

Manage your fleet with confidence, with clear centralized communication, the ability to easily assign questions and to-dos, and targeted notifications that ensure your team gets the message.

@mentioning on a Comment

NOTE: If your users utilize Fleetio Go in Spanish, Comments in English will not be translated and will appear in English. Learn more in Fleetio Go in Spanish for Administrators.

If you would like to mention another team member in a comment:

  1. Select the record you would like to mention a team member in. For this example, we will walk through the process with a Vehicle.
  2. On the Vehicle Details page, click the Comments button on the Details Sidebar.

  1. In the Add a Comment box, type your message. To directly mention another user, type @ and then begin typing their name to locate the correct user.

NOTE: If a user is selected that does not have access to the record, you will receive a pop-up alerting you to this. You may still choose to mention them. However, they will NOT receive a notification.

TIP: If you'd like to use more advanced formatting in your comment, you now have the ability to use bold, underline, italics, strikethrough, bulleted lists, numbered lists and links.

  1. Click Comment.

The user that was mentioned will receive a notification to their preferred notification method, as well as in the @mentions section of the Notifications Center. Click Reply to respond to the mention in the comment.

NOTE: The user that is @mentioned in the comment will NOT be automatically added as a Watcher on the record if they are not already watching the record. Therefore, they will not see others' comments unless someone mentions them again. The user WILL be added as a Watcher on the record if they leave a comment or reply to a mention.

NOTE: Comments that are received for @mentions are currently only able to be filtered on the Fleetio Web app in the Notification Center, not on Fleetio Go.
