Meter Entry - Add or Update

Keeping the meter readings for your Fleetio Vehicles current and up-to-date with their actual meter values is key to managing your fleet. Many Preventative Maintenance services are scheduled by meter interval, and current meter readings are necessary for timely "Due Soon" and "Due" reminders, whether via an on-screen alert or email notification.

In order to provide an easy way to track and update these current meter values, Fleetio provides many ways to add and update Meter Readings.

Quick Add Menus

The + Quick Add menu in the upper right corner of the Fleetio web app includes a Meter Entry option:

The Vehicle Details page also includes vehicle-specific quick-add options.

1. Click Vehicles in the Sidebar Navigation and select Vehicle List.
2. Locate the Vehicle and click on it to view its details.
3. Click the + Add button, and select Add Meter Entry.

4. In the pop-up, enter the new meter reading under Primary Meter. The Current Reading is displayed below the text box. New readings must be greater than this current value.
   • If a Secondary Meter is available, you'll see a Secondary Meter field here as well.
5. Enter the corresponding Meter Date.
6. Click the Save button.

Vehicle Overview

You can also change the Meter directly on the Vehicle Overview page.

1. Click Vehicles in the Sidebar Navigation and select Vehicle List.
2. Click the Vehicle in question.
3. Click the Edit Icon next to the Meter or Secondary Meter in the Details widget.

4. In the pop-up, enter the new meter reading under Primary Meter. The Current Reading is displayed below the text box. New readings must be greater than this current value.
   • If a Secondary Meter is available, you'll see a Secondary Meter field here as well.
5. Enter the corresponding Meter Date.
6. Click the Save button.

Linked Records

When you record an Inspection, Fuel Entry, Service Entry, or Work Order, a new Meter Reading is automatically generated with the associated meter value and date.

Fleetio Go Mobile App

Fleetio Go allows you to manage Vehicles and perform many of the same actions available in the Fleetio web app. When the Meter is updated while completing actions in Fleetio Go, that information is automatically associated with the Vehicle across the Fleetio platform.
