As a general rule, Service Reminders will reset "Due" values (due primary meter, due secondary meter and/or due date) based on data from the last time the service was performed.
In addition to this regular reset, Fleetio is smart enough to detect several important exceptions to standard Service Reminder reset.
Service Reminders without Service History
Even if a Service Reminder has no service history, its due date and meters will still be calculated automatically. This ensures that if a Service Reminder is accidentally reset, its due date and meters will reset appropriately to their original values.
The first due date will always start from the day the Service Reminder was created in Fleetio. If a First Service date or meter value is set, this will be used to calculate the first due parameters. In either case, the time interval is added to the creation date of the reminder in order to determine when its first due date should be.
The first due meters will always use the interval (or the First Service meter, if one exists) as the first due meter.
EXAMPLE: For a Service Reminder scheduled for every 100,000 miles, the first due meter will be 100,000 miles, regardless of the vehicle's current meter.
NOTE: For convenience during set up, Service Reminders generated from Service Programs will automatically use the vehicle’s current meter reading plus the reminder interval to calculate initial due meters. This is set as a manual override on the Service Reminder. If the manual override is turned off, then the Service Reminder will reset based on the logic above. Service Reminders with a first service value will always use this value as the first due meter.
Reset a Service Reminder with a Service Entry or Work Order
When a Service Entry or completed Work Order includes the Service Task listed on the Service Reminder, the Service Reminder's due date/meters will automatically reset. In the case of date-based reminders, these will always reset using the date of the service; a new due date is calculated based on the Service Reminder's date interval.
In the case of meter-based Service Reminders, if a meter entry is preset on the service and is valid (i.e. not void), then the Service Reminder will calculate a new due meter using the completion meter of the service plus the Service Reminder meter interval.
EXAMPLE: if an Oil Change is due every 5,000 miles and it is completed at 11,359 miles, the next due meter will be 16,359 miles.
Reset a Service Reminder where Service History has Void Meters
If a meter is void or missing on the most recent service for a Service Reminder, Fleetio will automatically identify the Estimated Meter, based on the last valid meter entry as the basis to reset the Service Reminder. Note the tooltip example below when hovering over the the Last Completed Meter Value on the Service Reminder to indicate that an Estimated Meter value was used.

EXAMPLE: A vehicle received a Service Entry on Wednesday with a void meter entry. A Fuel Entry with a valid meter of 12,000 miles was recorded on the Monday just prior. The next due meter for that Service will be based on the valid 12,000 value. If meter history or service history is later changed, the due meter will update accordingly.
