Categorizing Fuel Entries by Fuel Type is a great way to group and report fuel costs. Fleetio includes pre-defined Fuel Types Diesel, Gasoline, and Propane. You may Edit or Delete these Types, as well as Add your own custom Fuel Types.
PERMISSION: Account Owners and Administrators can manage Fuel Types. See User Roles & Permissions for more info.
Manage Fuel Types
- Go to your Account Menu and select Settings.

- In the Settings sidebar, click Fuel Types under Fuel & Energy.
- To add a new Fuel Type, click the + Add Fuel Type Button (a) in the top right corner.
- Enter a name for the Fuel Type in the pop-up and click the Save button.
- Or, click the More Actions Button (b) next to an existing Fuel Type to Edit or Delete it.

NOTE: Fuel Types affiliated with Fuel Entries cannot be deleted for historical purposes. Edit any saved Fuel Entries to change the Fuel Type before attempting to delete it.
Fuel Card Integration and Fuel Imports
Fuel Entries added via Fuel Card Integrations or Fuel Imports may also include the Fuel Type as a data field.
Filter and Report by Fuel Type
The Fuel History Index and various Fuel Reports include easy Filter options so that you can narrow results displayed by Fuel Type.
