Fleetio Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Fleetio! If you're looking for a quick and easy way to get started, you've come to the right place! This brief Quick Start Guide will get you up and running with a very basic Fleetio setup following the steps and resources below.

Four Quick Steps to Get Started

Add Multiple Vehicles

A Vehicle represents any asset used for transporting people or goods or for accomplishing major functions that are central to your operations. Examples include cars, trucks, boats, trailers, airplanes, forklifts, bulldozers, and excavators.

The most efficient way to build your fleet database is by using the add multiple vehicles set up process, which includes automatic VIN Decoding.

Add Super Users

Fleetio works best when your whole team is collaborating! That's why we give you unlimited Users with your Fleetio Plan.

As with Vehicles, the most efficient way to Add Multiple Users is through Fleetio's Bulk Add process.

You can dive deeper into Contacts, User Types, Roles, and Permissions in the User Management Overview article.

Once you’ve added your core team, use the Add and Invite Individual Users Help Guide to have them join your Fleetio account.

Download Fleetio Go

The Fleetio Go app will allow your drivers and technicians to access vehicle information, conduct inspections, report issues, and find nearby shops, among many other things.

Follow the steps in our Getting Started with Fleetio Go guide so that you’re familiar with the app and how your team will be using it in their day-to-day activities.

Set Up a Service Program

Set up some service reminders so that you can start tracking the maintenance schedules for your fleet! Service Programs are a great and fast way to set up you schedules. You can learn how to set them up in our Service Program Overview guide.

If your vehicles have VINs you can import the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule straight into Fleetio. Read more about this in the OEM/Manufacturer Recommended Service Schedules guide.

Submit a Test Issue

One of the quickest ways to start tracking your vehicle maintenance is by using Issues. You can quickly add and report issues through Fleetio Go and then track the resolutions through a Service Entry or a Work Order.

The Manage Issues in Fleetio Go guide will show you how to report an issue in Fleetio Go.
