NOTE: Fleetio offers the option to Archive or permanently Delete any Tool. Archiving a Tool will retain all of its historical data.
IMPORTANT: Archived Tools may be Restored, but Deleted Tools cannot be recovered.
- Archived Tools are read-only; they cannot be edited.
- In order to edit an archived Tool, you must first restore it.
PERMISSION: Account Owners, Administrators, and Regular Users with Archive/Delete permission by Role can Archive, Restore, or Delete a Tool. Only Account Owners can Bulk Delete Tools.
Archive Tools
You can archive Tools individually from both the Tools Index and the Tool Details Page. In the Tools Index, you can also archive multiple Tools at once.
Archive an Individual Tool
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Locate the Tool in the list.
- Click the More Actions Button at the end of the row and select Archive.
From the Tool Details Page:
- Click the Actions Drop-Down Menu, then select Archive.
Archive Multiple Tools
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Select the Tools using the checkboxes (a).
- Click the Actions Drop-down Menu (b) and select Archive (c).
View Archived Tools
After a Tool has been archived, it will no longer appear in the Tools Index.
The Tool can still be accessed by clicking the Archived tab within the Tools Index.
Restore Archived Tools
Restore an Archived Tool at any time to re-enable editing.
You can restore Tools individually from both the Tools Index and the Tool Details Page. In the Tool Index, you can also restore multiple Tools at once.
Restore an Individual Archived Tool
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Click the Archived Tab.
- Locate the Tool in the list.
- Click the More Actions Button at the end of the row and select Restore.
From the Tool Details Page:
- Click the Restore button in the This record is archived banner.
Restore Multiple Archived Tools
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Click the Archived tab (a).
- Select the Tools using the checkboxes (b).
- Click the Actions Drop-down Menu (c) and select Restore.
Delete Archived Tools
If you wish to permanently remove a Tool from your Fleetio account, you can Delete it after it has been archived.
You can delete Tools individually from both the Tools Index and the Tool Details Page. Account Owners can delete multiple Tools at once from the Tools Index.
IMPORTANT: While an Archived Tool can easily be Restored, as shown above, Deleting a Tool is a permanent action and cannot be undone!
Delete an Individual Archived Tool
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Click the Archived Tab.
- Locate the Tool in the list.
- Click the More Actions Button at the end of the row and select Delete.
From the Tool Details Page:
- Click the Delete button in the This record is archived banner.
Delete Multiple Archived Tools
PERMISSION: Only Account Owners can Bulk Delete Tools.
From the Tools Index:
- Click Tools in the Sidebar Navigation.
- Click the Archived tab (a).
- Select the Tools using the checkboxes (b).
- Click the Actions Drop-down Menu (c) and select Delete.
