A Meter Entry Conflict provides you with the reasons why a specific meter entry was auto-voided by Fleetio when it was created in the system. When a Meter Entry is saved in Fleetio, either manually or automatically by an Integration, Fleetio compares that entry to other meter entries to determine if there is a conflict, and if there is, Fleetio will automatically void that entry. When you view that Meter Entry, you'll see additional details and context to help you understand the cause of the auto-void so you can take the necessary actions.
Understanding Meter Entry Conflicts
You can see Meter Entry Conflicts as part of any Voided Meter Entry in the Meter History Index and the Meter History Tab on a Vehicle Details Page.
- To view the Meter History Index, click Vehicles in the Sidebar Navigation, then click Meter History.
- To view a Vehicle Details Page, click Vehicles in the Sidebar Navigation, then click Vehicle List. Click on a Vehicle in the Index, then click the Meter History tab.
In both locations, voided Meter Entries will be highlighted with strikethrough text (a), labeled as voided in the Void Status column (b), and, if auto-voided, show the reason why in the Auto-Void Reason column (c).

The Void Status column indicates how the Meter Entry was voided:
- Manually Voided - The user completing the Meter Entry marked it as void.
- Auto-Voided - Fleetio automatically voided the Meter Entry because of a conflict.
- Conflict Source - See the Conflict Source section below.
The Auto-Void Reason column provides the basic reason why a Meter Entry is auto-voided.
- Out of Sequence - Auto-voided because it was not in sequence with the previous meter entry.
- Exceeds Max. Daily Usage - Auto-voided because it exceeds the maximum daily usage of 3,000 miles (4,828 kilometers).
To view the full Meter Entry Conflict, hover over the Meter Value or the Void Status of an auto-voided meter entry.
The Meter Entry Conflict tooltip gives you the following information:
- The Vehicle in question.
- Details about this meter entry, including the mileage, the date the entry occurred, and the source of the entry.
- The Conflict Entry, which also includes the mileage, the date the entry occurred, and the source of that entry.
- The Conflict Entry is the most recent valid meter entry that resulted in the subsequent meter entries becoming auto-voided. See the Conflict Source section below for more info.
- The Conflict Status, or the reason why the entry was auto-voided.
In the example below, the 49,786 mi meter entry on 05/05/2023 (b) was auto-voided because it was 74,214 miles behind (d) the previous 124,000 mi meter entry on 05/26/2021 (c).

Conflict Source
Conflict Source is a record type in Fleetio that shows you what could be the root cause of an auto-voided Meter Entry.
A Conflict Source is indicated by a red flag in the Meter Value column (a), as well as a Conflict Source label in the Void Status column (b).

Hover over the Meter Value or Void Status to view more Conflict Source details:
- The Vehicle in question.
- Details about this meter entry, including the mileage, the date the entry occurred, and the source of the entry.
- The number of other entries that this entry conflicts with, and the date range of those entries. Click on the number to view the full list of those entries.
- The difference between this meter entry and the next auto-voided entry.
In the example below, this 124,000 mi meter entry on 05/26/2021 (b) is causing 101 Entries to be auto-voided (c).

Correcting a Meter Entry Conflict
In most cases, the Conflict Source is likely the root cause of auto-voids occurring on more recent Meter Entries. If you've determined that is the case, you can correct the conflict by manually voiding the Conflict Source entry, and then manually un-voiding the voided entries that followed.
To void the Conflict Source Entry:
- Start by locating the Auto-voided Meter Entry as shown above.
- Hover over the Meter Value to view the Meter Entry Conflict.
- Click on the Conflicting Entry.

- In the Edit Meter Entry pop-up, you'll see meter entries from the same time frame as a reference, and you can also click View All Meter History for the Vehicle to view the full history.
- Check the Void checkbox to the right of the Meter Value to void the entry.

- Click the Save button.
To un-void the voided entries:
- Locate the Auto-voided Meter Entry as shown above.
- Hover over the Meter Value to view the Meter Entry Conflict.
- Click on the value for This Entry.

- In the Edit Meter Entry pop-up, you'll see meter entries from the same time frame as a reference, and you can also click view all meter history for the vehicle.
- Uncheck the Void checkbox to the right of the Meter Value.

- Click the Save button.
Repeat these steps to un-void each auto-voided Meter Entry.
