In the event of a Meter Entry error, you can Edit or Delete the incorrect meter reading or Mark it as Void.
The available options depend on the source of the Meter Entry:
- Manually Entered - Manually recorded Meter Readings are available to edit directly, delete, or mark as void.
- Linked Record - Meter Readings associated with a linked record (e.g. Inspection, Fuel Entry, Service Entry, Vehicle Assignment, etc.) may be edited through the source record or marked as void.
- Integration - Meter Readings created via Integration cannot be edited, but may be deleted or marked as void.
TIP: This article focuses on working with meter entries for a single Vehicle. You can also view and edit meters for the entire fleet at once. Learn more in the Bulk Meter Management article.
View Meter History
Navigate to the Vehicle Details Page (Vehicles > Vehicle List in the Sidebar Navigation) and click the Meter History tab to view each Meter Reading for that Vehicle.
- Click to Filter entries, which is helpful if you want to view only Primary or Secondary meter, Voided entries, or those within a specific time frame.
- Sort your results by clicking any column header.
- Click More Actions to go to the Meter History Index for additional functionality.
- The Source column includes links to associated records.
- Hover on a row and click the More Actions Button for those entries with additional options.
Edit or Delete Meter Readings
Navigate to the Meter History tab on the Vehicle Details Page as shown above.
Manually Entered Meter Reading
Meter Readings can be manually entered in multiple ways: the update link in the Vehicle header, the Update Odometer button on the Vehicle's Meter History screen, the + Add menu, etc.
Meter Readings imported via API Integration are also recorded as Manual.
Manually entered meter readings will include a More Actions Button with Edit, Void, View Record History, and Delete options.
Linked Record
A Meter Reading which has been created through another record type (i.e. Inspections, Fuel Entry, Service Entry, or Work Order) will only have options to Edit, Void, or View Record History.
You can also click the link to the Source record to view its details.
Integration
A Meter Reading which has been created through a GPS integration will include the name of the integration in the Source column.
The Edit option is disabled, but you can Void, View Record History, or Delete.
Bulk Manage Meter Readings for a Single Vehicle
You may take certain actions with multiple Meter Readings at once: Void, Unvoid, or Delete.
To complete Bulk Actions, go to the Vehicle Details Page and select the Meter History tab. Then, click More Actions.
Check the boxes to multi-select entries (a), then click the Actions Drop-down Menu (b).
NOTE: The Unvoid process starts with the first chronological entry and attempts to Unvoid each meter reading in sequence by date. If an entry cannot be marked Unvoid, Fleetio will stop the process at this entry.
IMPORTANT: Fleetio will only allow you to void or unvoid selected entries that are consistent. You can only bulk void valid entries and bulk unvoid voided entries. Meter entries linked to other source records, like Service Entries, may not be deleted individually; therefore, they cannot be deleted in bulk.
