Inspections - Submit via Fleetio Web App

Table of Contents

Once an Inspection Form has been created using the Fleetio web app, most users will complete and Submit Inspections in Fleetio Go. For those Users working from a desktop or laptop computer, Inspections can also be submitted through their web browser.

PERMISSIONS: Account Owners and Administrators can submit inspections. Regular Users must be given the Submit Inspections permission via Role, and their Record Sets must include Update access for the Vehicle in question.

TIP: Learn more about Inspections in Inspections Overview.

Start a New Inspection

There are two ways to start an inspection:

  • Click Inspections > Inspection History in the Sidebar Navigation. Click the + Start Inspection button in the upper right corner, then choose an Inspection Form.
  • Click Inspections > Forms in the Sidebar Navigation. Click the Start Inspection button in the upper right corner, then choose an Inspection Form.

Forms will be listed in order of most frequent use.

NOTE: If this is your first Inspection submission from this web browser, you may be prompted to enable Location Services for your browser. This grants permission for Fleetio to gather location data for the Inspection submission. The exact message and procedure to enable will vary depending on your browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer).

IMPORTANT: If the Form name does not appear in the selection list or if the Vehicle is not available for a specific Form, then the Form may need to be enabled for the Vehicle. Account Owners and Administrators can Enable the form in the Fleetio web app.

Select a Vehicle from the drop-down menu, then complete each Inspection item. Add any comments or photos by selecting + Add Remark.

Depending on which fields you have included for your forms, it may look different than the sample checklist below.

NOTE: If you have created an Inspection Workflow to automatically generate an Issue for a failed Inspection Item, that issue will derive its name from any Comment/Remark. If no comment is recorded, the issue will be named after the Inspection Item.

Click the Save Inspection button when complete.

If there are any errors, such as a required field that needs to be filled out or a remark that's needed for an item failure, you will not be able to submit the form until the errors are resolved.

As soon as you save the inspection, you'll be taken to the completed submission that will list the web app as the Submission Source.

If an Inspection is submitted on the wrong Vehicle or receives an incorrect meter entry, it can be edited in the Fleetio web app.
