Enable location services in Fleetio Go to record the location of your assets without the need for a separate GPS device. This guide covers how to enable location services and when locations are recorded in the app.
Enable Location Data on Your Device
When you first download Fleetio Go, or when you go to a screen that uses Locations, such as the Shop Directory, you'll get a prompt to allow Fleetio Go to use your location. Select Allow While Using App to record entries when Fleetio Go is open and being used.
If you previously declined to share your location but want to enable it, go to Fleetio Go in your system settings to change your location permission settings.
Recording Location Entries
Fleetio records a Location Entry for Vehicles when you:
- Submit Inspections in Fleetio Go
- Log Fuel Entries in Fleetio Go
- Scan Vehicles in Fleetio Go (iOS only)
Fleetio records a Location Entry for Tools when you:
NOTE: Fleetio does not record Location Entries for any other events and does not track your route.
View Asset's Last Known Location
Location information is available on an asset's Overview Page in the Fleetio web app and in Fleetio Go for Users with Roles and Permissions to view Location Entries.
