Assign Issues in Fleetio

The Assigned To field for Issues allows you to specify individuals who are responsible for closing or resolving an open Issue in Fleetio. These individuals will receive automated email notifications for Issues they are assigned to if their User Notification Settings are set up accordingly.

Assigning an Issue

The Assigned To field is available when creating a new Issue or editing an existing one. The steps below cover editing an existing Issue, however, you'll see the same Details page when creating new Issues.

Issues may be assigned to any of your Contacts in Fleetio, and multiple Contacts can be assigned to the same Issue.

To assign an Issue:

  1. Click Issues in the Sidebar Navigation, then select Issues.
  2. Locate the Issue to be assigned, click the More Actions Button, and select Edit.

  1. In the Edit Issue Details form, use the Assigned To drop-down to select one or more Contacts to assign the issue to.

TIP: Type a Contact's name into the Assigned To field to easily find who you're looking for.

  1. Click the Save Issue button to save your changes.

Notification Emails for Assigned Issues

Email notifications will be sent for the following occurrences:

  • When the individual is assigned an Issue
  • When a comment is made on the Issue
  • Daily summary emails of all Issues considered "overdue"
  • When an issue is 'Resolved' or 'Closed'
  • When an issue is created
